What to expect

My passion is to capture real, authentic moments.  Giggles, tickles, hugs, smiles and laughter.  During my sessions I encourage you to play and have fun.  Be yourself!  Don't worry, I will still pose you.  But that is just a small part of your story.  My favorite images show movement and capture the moment.  Honest and true.

As for newborns - I want to capture the essence of a perfect, tiny human being.  I keep my posing extremely simple and natural.  I aim to create images that will be timeless for years to come as opposed to creating something fun and trendy.  I do not use any props duing newborn sessions unless you have a very simple request, and if so I will definitely try to accomodate that (for example, a family heirloom).

frequently asked questions

When should I schedule my session?

I take a limited number of sessions each month.  I recommend booking around 3-4 weeks in advance to guarantee a spot on my calender.  With that being said, I do my best to accommodate last minute requests if possible.  October is my busiest month, and I would recommend  booking in July or August to guarantee a beautiful autumn session.

How do I book a newborn session when I don’t know when my baby will actually be born?

We work around baby!  When you book, I will pencil in the due date on my calender. Once baby is born, we will finalize the exact date (within 14 days of birth).  I take a limited number of newborns per month, so there will be no scheduling issues if your baby arrives early or late.

Can you remove blemishes?

Each and every image I present in your gallery is fully edited and retouched.  I enhance my subjects to look like they would on their best day. So blemishes, cuts, bruises, etc will be removed or minimized as best as possible.

What gear do you use?

I am a Canon girl!  I love my Canon 5D MarkIII camera.  My lenses include the 24-70mm 2.8L, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 100mm 2.8L macro (perfect for those newborn details!) and the 135mm 2.0L (my favorite lens for outdoor portraits).  I edit in Lightroom5 and use Photoshop on occasion if needed.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever about a session with me!  I will be happy to help!
